For Nintendo 64 What is a memory pak required? and what is a jumper Pak?
Can a Nintendo 64 game system be played without a memory pak? or is it just required on some of the games? Also I have a jumper pak what exactly is this?
Only a handful of games require the Memory Pak. I know that Quest 64 does, and it’s the only one I can actually think of.
The Jumper Pak is the thing that gets replaced by the Expansion Pak if you want to play certain games. Donkey Kong 64 and Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask both require you to replace the Jumper Pak with the Expansion Pak in order to play the game. Having an Expansion Pak will smooth out the graphics in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness as well. Unless you want to play any of these games, you shouldn’t need to worry about it. If you do need a game that requires the Expansion Pak, you can insert it on the top of the console below the cartridge slot. You HAVE to have either the Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak in order to play any games.
